COMINGS AND GOINGS

Things are getting intense here in NOLA. Only two weeks left of the Spring semester. I'm trying to finish the second of two research papers, both of which are due this coming Saturday. I also have several "blackboard" entries, based on reading assignments that are do this week, and I must prepare a classroom presentation on my first research paper. Next week all I have to do is more "blackboard" postings, and prepare a classroom (expository) presentation on another assigned reading. Then it's over for about 4 weeks!!! HOORAY!

H2 is doing really well in the Police Academy. His graduation, if you don't already know, is scheduled for May 15th. We're planning a crawfish boil to enable him to celebrate with family and friends. H1/DIL1 are coming in, so we'll have the WHOLE family!!

Another awesome event upcoming is the "convalidation" of H1/DIL1's marriage. That means that they will have a ceremony in the Church, having their marriage "blessed" and sacramentalized. The date isn't set in stone as yet, but I'll post as soon as it is known!!

BB's first Holy Communion is this coming Saturday. We're all really excited for her! I have permission from my professor to leave class long enough to attend the ceremony.

Ian will have his confirmation this fall. He's doing really great in school and we're very proud of him, as well as BB. They are two really bright, wonderful kids!!

DLG's birthday is coming, and since she's never been to Court of Two Sisters, we (Linda and I) are taking her and Major Dad for their jazz brunch. It should be a great time, if our time with H1/DIL1 was any indication.

Last Saturday the family (sans H1/DIL1) got together at MD/DLG's for dinner. Delicious beef brisket, pulled pork, grilled sausages, potato salad, baked beans, and corn. Awesome!! MD is a fantastic cook and host! Thanks for a great time!

On Good Friday Linda went to the "Soles for Christ" 9 churches walk, sponsored by the Center of Jesus the Lord. It is a depiction of the "way of the cross" with actors that walk from the Center to 9 different churches, stopping along the way to reenact the different stations, finishing up back at the Center. Linda took some really excellent photos of KenEllie, who were actors in the "play". Kenny was a Roman Soldier and Ellie was a Hebrew woman. I will post pictures later, so check back.

I guess that's about it... wishing everyone the best, and may God's blessings be with you always!!

No, Major Dad, not weird. It is in the top #1 of things I miss. The H-clan/S-clan dinner conversation can not be beat!

Luv the pix.

Umm, why is Kenny mean-mugging Jesus?

'Cause he's the evil Roman centurion.

And I thought Pilate was Pontius, not Portly!
