Wow!! The compassion being shown by the New Orleans hospitals continues. A friend of our daughter, whose husband is also a sheriff’s deputy, like our son-in-law, was called by Touro Hospital and told to return to work. She told them she had evactuated to New York to her family, so she would need time to get back, and that she has no place to live in New Orleans. Their reply was not an offer of help in finding lodging, but rather they fired her, too. What is wrong with these institutions? People are homeless. There is no support infrastructure in place for people to get the bare necessities to live on. Why not add salt in their wounds by taking away their livelihood as well?
Corporate America can really suck at times, ya know?
